Dear Clients,
This afternoon, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice offices in London, St. Thomas, Sarnia, and Woodstock have informed us that due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Ontario, and because of the current lockdown order, the courts will once again be automatically adjourning the following court dates:
If you have court dates scheduled for tomorrow (April 22), those will still go ahead and you should have already received your Zoom link from us. All other court dates for the next two weeks will be rescheduled by the Court.
If you are impacted by these adjournments, one of our staff will be in touch with you to inform you of the new court date once we have received it from the court.
Legal Aid settlement conferences and other meetings that are not happening through the court are still going ahead at this time.
As always, we will continue to keep you informed as we receive more information, or if the court announces more adjournments after May 7. During this time, I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to work through a very significant backlog of work caused by last year’s shutdowns, in addition to the new situations that are continuing to come up because of the current COVID-19 rules and lockdown.
Kelli, David and I are continuing to work diligently on all of your matters, and we appreciate your understanding while our team is constantly adapting to the ever-changing rules and procedures related to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health rules. We understand how difficult this time has been on many of you and your families, and we want you to know that while we are also dealing with the same stresses and uncertainties, we will continue to be here to support you.
As always, I wish to thank you for your continued trust as we continue to work together toward your family court goals.
Yours very truly,
Eric Vallillee
